Windmills, Waves, Bays: tribute to Mykonos

Mykonos is the place of my heart. It was love at first sight. I was a teen and life seemed so simple and beautiful on this whitewashed island that i said to myself: I will never leave.

All the canvas of this collection remind crowded streets, welcomed by the same smiling faces every year. It’s about alleys and valleys, bays and waves, chapels and windmills.

I have been wondering the forever blue sky, the blue-green of the sea, the pinky bouganvilleas, the grey desertic promenades, the golden lights. The black of the night, the brilliant silver of the parades, and, of course, some touch of white that means town.

Every color is moved like splashed from Meltemi, the local, never stopping, northern windy. It blews my mind and moves my arms, creating a portrait of eternity.

As I said at the beginning, I thought on my own I will never leave Mykonos. In a unexpected way, painting and moving on canvas, I did it.

I kept my promise. Mykonos, through that creations, will be forever in me
